Graduated from Mobile College (now University of Mobile) in May 1992 with a B.S. in composite science secondary education after attending University of South Alabama and University of Alabama pursuing career in Chemistry.

In July 2011, I received my Master's Degree in Psychology from University of West Alabama.

My initial desire was a career in medicine, but life sometimes provides you with avenues that will better fit your talents.  Teaching is my talent, and I enjoy it.  I have been teaching high school since 1992.  I also teach online high school with ACCESS and have been involved with the Science-in-Motion program since 1996.  My students have access to superb lab equipment which better prepares them for college lab experiences.  I recently decided to attain my Master's Degree in Psychology which provided me the opportunity to teach with Alabama Southern Community College where I get to teach some of my own students from JHS as well as getting acquainted with others.  Tutoring after school is another of my "jobs" so that I can provide my students with many avenues to utilize to be successful.

Teaching is a passion, and I thoroughly enjoy it.  I enjoy getting to know my students, watch them grow and mature, and I am very happy to hear about their future endeavors and success.  Teaching at Jackson High School has been the best thing that could have ever happened to me.  My students are like my children, and I want them to learn.  I push them to their limits, but they understand why I do this after they have done it and realized that they could do what they never thought possible.  It is truly a blessing to work and interact with young people and make an impact in their lives and for them to impact my life.  My working family (teachers, administration, and other personnel) here at JHS is awesome!!!

My husband of 30 years, Jeff, myself, and my son are all alumni of Jackson High School.  I have taught at JHS since 1994.  My first two years of teaching were at Leroy High School.
